- Bending your neck or lying on your face will cause more swelling. Title your head back and rest on a chair.
- Using 2~3 pillows, keep head elevated higher than chest when sleeping.
- Try to avoid letting out too much tear, wiping the double eyelid area, or closing your eyes tight.
- Cover your operated area with gauze and place ice pack. Cold temperature constrics the veins, will help stop bleeding, and induce recovery.
- 3 days after surgery, the swelling should be gone. Change to hot pack for better blood circulation that will induce recovery.
- You may apply eye makeup the day after the stitches are removed. For 2~3 weeks after surgery, be careful not to rub the operated area when removing makeup.
- Avoid saunas (or any hot and humid places) for 3 weeks to prevent the operated area from stretching.
- Do not take Aspirin for week after surgery. It may cause bleeding.
- You may participate in light physical activities 3 weeks after the surgery. More intense activities such as swimming should wait until 3 months have passed.

- Do not touch operated area in order to keep it from getting infected.
- Wait 5 days before you wash your face with care using only water or soap for babies. Be gentle.
- No alcohol consumption (affects white blood cells) and no smoking (affects blood circulation) for at least one month after surgery.
- Your eyes may look asymmetrical due to swelling.
- The operated area might be red. This is not a scar but a natural skin reaction. Most Patients will find the redness to go away in 1~3 months but it may differ from individual to individual.
- You might see blood in the white of your eyes. This is not blood from the white of your eyes. You do not need ophthalmological treatment. It will disappear in 2~3 weeks.
